Crime Stoppers Teams with local Home Builders to Fight Construction Theft

6/10/2021

On 8 June, Crime Stoppers and the Housing and Building Association (HBA) of Colorado Springs announced a partnership aimed at curtailing theft from local building sites.  Builders have witnessed a spike in theft at both commercial and residential building sites, which in turn has translated into added costs for homebuilders, home buyers and businesses, and also has led to significant delays in construction projects.  Through the Crime Stoppers program and tip line, the HBA is offering multiple $1,000 rewards for information that leads to the arrest of construction site thieves and vandals.

Crime Stoppers provides a means for citizens to report information on crimes and remain anonymous. Through our tip line number, 719-634-STOP, or website www.crimestop.net, individuals with information on construction site theft, or any other crime, can report information to Crime Stoppers.  Crime Stoppers will ensure local law enforcement receives the information without ever releasing any identifying information on the tip provider.

If you have information or witness suspicious activity at a building site, especially activity occurring between 7pm and 7am, please contact Crime Stoppers via the tip line or website.  You’ll remain anonymous and you can help reduce crime in our community, and in many cases, receive a monetary reward for doing so. Call 719-634-STOP.
