Announcing Pikes Peak Area Crime Stoppers Support Program

1/25/2021

Pikes Peak Area Crime Stoppers (PPACS) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit tax-exempt corporation dedicated to making this area safer by managing a reporting platform and cash reward program which enable citizens to anonymously provide information to law enforcement on criminal activity.
PPACS has directly improved the lives of citizens in the region for more than four decades by offering an alternative avenue to provide information that may assist law enforcement in solving crimes; thus, enhancing the safety of our community.  The cash rewards paid to tipsters are a critical component of PPACS’s success and come directly from community donations.  A partnership with a local financial institution ensures a safe and anonymous cash pick-up location.

We have a new program called the Pikes Peak Area Crime Stoppers Support Program.

We will provide a Crime Stoppers window decal for businesses and individuals that sign up for our Crime Stoppers Support Program for $50 per year.  When prominently displayed, the Crime Stoppers logo may act as a deterrent to would-be criminals.  This program is available to retailers, restaurants, fast food stores, quick-stop stores, gas stations, and other businesses.

Funds collected from the support program will be used to increase the value of rewards for tips, and to expand the presence of the Crime Stoppers logo across the community.  By increasing reward value for tips and expanding distribution of this logo in retail outlets, it is expected that the number of tips will increase, thus reducing overall crime in the community.
