Manitou Springs Police Department and the Pikes Peak Area Crime Stoppers are Offering a $1,000 Reward in Identifying a person vandalizing MSPD and City Vehicles.

Pikes Peak Area Crime Stoppers, in partnership with the Manitou Springs Police Department (MSPD),is offering a $1,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest in regard to a series of vandalism that has been taking place on MSPD and City vehicles.

On the night of September 5th, a vandal slashed two tires on a City vehicle. On the nights of September 6-9, a person believed to be the same vandal scratched and poured food ingredients on four MSPD police vehicles.

The suspect (pictured) is believed to be a 5’10” to 6’ White or Hispanic male seen wearing an all black outfit and a black balaclava in the 600 block of Manitou Avenue around 7:18p.m. on September 8.

Bill Otto, Chief of Police for the Manitou Springs Police Department commented on this matter and stated, “Actions like these are disheartening and despicable.” He continued, “the biggest victim of these crimes are the Manitou Springs taxpayers, who’s tax money is being used to repair the thousands of dollars in damage, rather than being dedicated towards police officer training, or a myriad of other efforts towards improving our department.”
