April 25, 2023; Effective immediately, Pikes Peak Area Crime Stoppers announces that it has doubled the reward amounts that the organization will offer for information that leads to criminal arrests. Any tips provided anonymously via the organization’s phone number, or its website are eligible for the increased reward amounts if the information leads to an arrest.
“Now more than ever we need information about criminal activity or wanted persons to reduce crime in our region. By using our 719-634-STOP (7867) number citizens can anonymously provide valuable information to law enforcement agencies. Callers will never be asked to provide their names or any other identifying information. We want concerned citizens to help reduce crime and that’s why we are increasing reward values,” said Don Addy, Chairman of the non-profit organization. Citizens can also anonymously provide information on crimes by using the Crime Stoppers website at www.crimestop.net In response to this announcement, CSPD Chief Vasquez offered “Pikes Peak Area Crime Stoppers is a great partner to law enforcement and our community members. Their continued efforts to make a difference and help keep our communities safe is commendable”. The organization publishes information on wanted felons every Monday in the Colorado Springs Gazette, and on their website. Each Sunday in the Gazette Crime Stoppers also shares tips and techniques on how citizens can help prevent crime. In 2022 anonymous tips submitted to Crime Stoppers resulted in 42 arrests and the recovery of drugs, cash, and firearms. Comments are closed.
