Stop it before it happens!
DO YOU KNOW ABOUT A CRIME OR HARMFUL ACT THAT HAS HAPPENED, OR IS GOING TO HAPPEN?
TELL SOMEONE! Tell a teacher, tell a security officer, tell a parent - but TELL SOMEONE!
BE THE CHANGE! MAKE A DIFFERENCE!
or call 444-STOP (444-7867)
WHY TELL US - STUDENT CRIME STOPPERS? FIVE REASONS...
1 - You will remain anonymous!
Like Clark Kent (Superman), like Peter Parker (Spiderman), or like Don Diego de la Vega (Zorro) - you too will have a nameless face, well actually a faceless and nameless face. Your call or e-mail tip is completely untraceable. No one will ask for your name or any identifying information. As a matter of fact, if you slip and tell us your name... we actually delete that information from the tip before we pass it on. We are here to protect you - your name, your age, your phone number, even the fact you love marshmallows.
NO FEAR OF RETALIATION!
Student Crime Stoppers combats fear of retaliation through the guarantee of complete ANONYMITY.
Web Tips submitted through this website are securely encrypted, entirely confidential, completely anonymous and are immediately and securely transferred directly to the Student Crime Stoppers offices using TipSoft - Tip Management Software.
Phone Tips are taken by trained call takers, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, who know how to walk you through giving enough information, without revealing anything personal. The calls are not traced, verified or otherwise recorded - and there is no caller ID. After submitting your tip, you will be provided with your own unique ID number that you will use when checking the status of your tip or picking up your reward.
2 - You can help save a friend, save a stranger, save your school and even save your life!
Tips we receive are taken very seriously. We do our best to gather as much information from you as we will need and then get that information to the proper authorities. Sometimes the police are involved, sometimes they aren't. But we know who to go to, to make sure the information is used wisely and safely for everyone involved.
AVOID APATHY! THIS IS YOUR COMMUNITY TOO!
By apathy, we mean that if the crime did not happen to you, if it was not your locker broken into or your calculator stolen, then you may tend to not get involved. The Student Crime Stoppers Program combats apathy by offering a cash reward for the positive outcome resulting from your tip.
3 - You could get a cash reward!
You could get a cash reward up to $1,000! That means if there is a positive outcome as a result of your tip, you could get cash. The amount of the reward is based on several factors that determined the severity of the case. A positive outcome is any tip that results in action being taken: a fight that was stopped, a suicide that was prevented, a gun that was found, a drug dealer who was arrested. Basically, anything that require someone to take action, besides investigating the information, is a positive outcome. And that can earn you money!
4 - Who will if you don't?
You may think it's not your business. It is! You may think it doesn't matter. It does!
Ask the parent whose teenager was stopped before she committed suicide. Ask the school who has to pay thousands of dollars every year for extra security. Ask the friend of the guy who overdosed on drugs the Friday after the football game, and is now brain damaged for life.
Ask yourself! Do you want to be afraid to go in the parking lot after dark to get in your car? Do you want your little brother who is coming to this school next year to be bullied every day? Do you want to sit down in the grass and realized you just missed sitting on a drug needle?
Change is good. Change that truly makes a difference is better!
5- You know what is going on!
You walk by the girl who sells drugs every day. You sit behind the guy who cheats off your friend's exam two seats up. You know when a fight is going to happen. You've seen the gun. You know the place where students have sex on campus. You know your friend has been talking about ending it all. You have been abused, harassed, bullied or otherwise treated badly!
You are a student!
BE THE CHANGE! MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

ABOUT STUDENT CRIME STOPPERS
The Pikes Peak Area Student Crime Stoppers program serves the Pikes Peak Area and is a partnership involving schools, law enforcement, the media and the community. The program falls under the umbrella of the Pikes Peak Area Crime Stoppers Program, thus allowing it the same protection of guaranteed anonymity. The Student Crime Stoppers program operates much the same way the Crime Stoppers program does, however, the student program solicits any information that could lead to a positive outcome, not just an arrest. That could mean the prevention of a crime or harmful act.
